ZOE Mentorship Organization (ZMO) is a Christian based fully registered indigenous nonprofit organization founded by Dorcas Asasiira (Child of Fallen Comrade; Late Nathan Ngozoire RA00398) in 2009 with a major objective of transforming living conditions in Uganda’s poorest slum areas by empowering youth and Single mothers (formerly prostitutes) through skills development and economic empowerment programs.Having been established in 2009, the organization straight away started the mobilization process of its targeted members and by year 2011, the organization membership had grown to atleast 200
ZMO engages Youth/Single mothers from urban slum areas who have lived a former life of prostitution, drug addiction and criminality. Many of these youth/single mothers in urban slums of Kampala have adopted such behaviours’ not by choice but as the only alternative left for them to survive
Accelerating, transforming and stimulating a broad based economic developed and stable Nation, Uganda
To contribute to the improvement of Youth/Single Mothers lives in slums through mentorship, Skills development and Economic empowerment for sustainable development..
ZOE strives to ensure that every youth in its program achieves the right to decent work and making cities safe, inclusive, resilient and sustainable as per the sustainable development goals.
Under this program, Youth and single mothers are mentored through Christian norms and principles. With our target group being youth who are slum dwellers with a prostitution back ground, mentor-ship is paramount
In this program, we look at Nursery/Primary school going children aged 3 – 13 years who completely have no opportunity of going to school. Through the Scholarship program, we hope to give the children a new beginning by exposing them to a new environment away from that they have been used to. .
There are many communities in Uganda that have critical, unmet needs. Majority of the people especially single mothers living in Slum Areas and Remote Villages of Uganda are suffering and lucking lots of things in their daily life, such as food, clothes, water, beddings, shoes, medical services, education among others
As a way of supporting its members, the organization provide monthly food, shelter and medical care to some of its members who can not completely afford a living. As of today, 800 members are provided with this support on a monthly basis.
